After CST 201: Media tools course, I feel that I have learned a lot of new things about design and media application. Thanks to the course, I am now able to produce, edit or remix digital sources (create wordle, compose movie posters, making audio advertisements, movie banner, compose sound, etc) using Photoshop, Illustrator, Animation, etc. I acquired knowledge about design and typographic principles not only through the book: The non-designer design book" by Robin Williams but also from various selective sources such as online articles, Youtube Channel, interactive websites. Also, through the learning process, I received informative and reflective feedback from my lecturer_ Ms. Susan Brown and also from my classmates, who acted as my clients for some projects. As a result, I got the brief view of the work of designer and experienced some constraints/ obstacles that designers might face in their works. In addition, I learned how to organized my works, web publishing, copyrights, etc.
I was able to accomplish all the outcomes mentioned above thanks to the useful information/ resources provided on Ilearn and the helpful instructions from my lecturer. In addition, I spent time watching additional tutorials on Youtube to discover issues that had not been covered in class. Most importantly, I learned from asking my classmates and taking examples/ ideas from their works or from references posted by Ms. Brown.
Among the assignments, the ones I like most is to make a movie poster and business card. I think thanks to this course, I knew how to design my own business card, which will come in handy for future usage. Also, designing movie posters was a long process and need good time management and high commitment to it. That's why completing the assignments made me feel good and was able to put all the knowledge into practice. Of all the assignment, I did not like most the "Audio advertisement" and the "Tutorial video" because I have to record my voice and I am not good with English. It made me feel embarrassed when published it.
